THE PLAINTRUTH can authoritavely report that President Bola Tinubu does not have a candidate among the governorship aspirants ahead of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress slated for April, 25.

The major contenders in the APC, who include Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Mayowa Akinfolarin, Wale Akinterinwa and a few aspirants are said to be lobbying cabals in the Presidency and President Tinubu’s close friends while Chief Olusola Oke continues to sell himself to the party members at the grassroots.

While Jimoh Ibrahim is said to be leveraging his relationship with President Tinubu, Governor Aiyedatiwa is banking on the support he had enjoyed from Ganduje during the planned impeachment.

The governor also met recently with the daughter of the president, Ms Folasade Tinubu to endorse him.

Contrary to popular beliefs by some APC members in Ondo state that Tinubu would handpick a candidate, sources within the Presidency told THE PLAINTRUTH on Friday that the president would rather keep mute, instead of handpicking a particular candidate.

“I can tell you that among the aspirants, one of them who is a medical doctor is a friend of the family. However, the president won’t, because of that endorse him.

“He wants all of them to go the field and test their popularity. Anybody who emerges among the aspirants is the candidate of president Bola Tinubu,” one of the sources said.
