Chelsea are still keen on a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen but will only push ahead with a loan move, The Telegraph has reported.
Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is holding out for possible suitors to pay Osimhen’s €130m (£110.8m) release clause.
However, both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are unwilling to go that high for the Super Eagles frontman.
Chelsea were close to signing Samu Omorodion after agreeing a €40m (£34.5m) deal with Atletico Madrid.
But the move has fallen through due to a disagreement over personal terms.
This has seen the Blues fall back on trying Osimhen, but only if Napoli are willing to agree to an initial loan deal.
That may cause a potential issue as Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has already hit back at suggestions that the striker could leave Napoli in a cut-price deal.
