‘Aiyedatiwa fraudulently declared winner, will be out of power soon’- Jimoh Ibrahim

Ondo South Senator, Jimoh Ibrahim has declared that the primary election that produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress flagbearer was fraudulently packaged.

The Senator disclosed that he had already approached a Federal High Court to correct the fraud allegedly perpetuated by Governor Usman Ododo-led Committee.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, Ibrahim said the primary election did not hold in 159 out of 203 polling units across the three senatorial districts in Ondo State.

He said that Kogi State governor, Ododo Ahmed Usman, who was the Chairman of Ondo State Primary Election Committee, fraudulently declared Lucky Aiyedatiwa winner in cahoots with the former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

While displaying the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s report, the lawmaker, also alleged that Ododo and Omo-Agege changed the date of collation of results midway to allow them perfect the “electoral fraud” in favour of the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ibrahim said he could not vote during the election because there were no election materials.

“Two clear prayers are being sought in the court as far as the mega fraud called the Ondo APC gubernatorial primary election is concerned,” Ibrahim said.

“The two prayers are one, that the sham carried out on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, should be cancelled for a fresh one to be conducted, and two, for the delisting of APC from Ballot in the November 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo state,” said Ibrahim.

Senator Ibrahim who purportedly came fourth in the election, said the primary election conducted by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was the biggest electoral fraud in Nigeria that must not be allowed to stand in the interest of internal party democracy.
