Efforts by the leader of Pan Yoruba socio-cultural organization, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti to appeal to Senator Jimoh Ibrahim on Friday with a view to withdrawing a case against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa were not successful.
The Senator was said to have turned down the request by the Afenifere leader and insisted that justice must be done.
Recall that Jimoh had approached a Federal High Court, in Abuja to invalidate the outcome of the primary election that produced Governor Aiyedatiwa as a candidate.
Alternatively, Jimoh, asked the court to remove APC from the ballot on November 16 governorship election.
Ibrahim had on Friday honoured the invitation extended to him by Pa Fasoranti and Oba Olu Falae in Akure to appeal to him to drop the suit.
At the closed-door meeting held at Pa Fasoranti’s residence, sources said the Senator did not give the Afenifere leaders position response(s) whether or not to withdraw the case.
Appreciating the elder statesmen, Senator Ibrahim, who, among other aspirants, was said to have told Pa Fasoranti that he did not vote in the governorship primary of the party.
