A National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has revealed how the presidential candidate of his party, Peter Obi squandered the 2023 campaign funds donated by Nigerians.

In a now-viral video on the social media,
Abure also named the lead pastor of the Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo, and the activist, Ashia Yesufu as signatories to the accounts where the funds went into.

“The funding of the election itself was carried out by Peter Obi; the party was never involved in the distribution of those resources.

“Hence, we gave Peter Obi, Yesufu and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo free hands.

“The signatories to the accounts were Aisha Yesufu and Pastor Itua Ighodalo. Both were also accountable for the compensation of the Polling Unit Agents.

“Our interest was to see how we can produce a president from the party, however, it was done, we didn’t bother ourselves with it.

“We followed them sheepishly and loyally and allowed them to administer the campaign funds.”
