The National Assistant Secretary of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Yakubu Suleiman has accused Aliko Dangote, the Chairman of Dangote Refinery of not being fair to Nigerians.
Suleiman, while speaking with Arise News on Friday, said Dangote’s fuel price was on the high side.
The IPMAN leader, who emphasised association’s willingness to work with Dangote, but expressed concern over a perceived lack of engagement with key stakeholders, said ” Dangote’s price is on the high side. It has to change its policies. I don’t think the refinery is fair to us.
“Prices are engaged by international price. We have to sort out where products are more cheaper than that of Dangote.
“Presently, what we buy outside the country is more cheaper than Dangote. We have to pity Nigerians. IPMAN is trying to consider Nigerians, considering the current economic hardship in the country.
“We don’t want to think about the profits we make alone, but we must think about Nigerians that are buying the products from us.
“Dangote needs a lot of stakeholders like us. Let us sit down and fashion out the best price for Nigerians.”
