The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata, has lost his poling unit to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asue ighodalo.
The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata, has lost his poling unit to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asue ighodalo.
Ighodalo scored 41 votes to beat his closest challenger, Akpata who scored 31 votes in his own unit while the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Monday Okpebholo got 91 votes.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has uploaded 4.5% of the results from the ongoing Edo State governorship election onto its INEC Result Viewing Portal, IREV.
As of Saturday, reports indicate that 205 out of 4,519 polling units in the state have successfully submitted their results to the portal, which allows for public viewing of the election outcomes.
The Edo governorship election has been marked by various challenges, including delayed arrival of election materials due to heavy rains in parts of the state, especially in Edo Central.
