The senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has asked members of the All Progressives Congress to choose the best candidate that can transform Ondo state.

He specifically advised them to choose between an abuser and a person who truly wants to develop the state.

The National Working Committee of the APC has settled for direct primary to elect the standard bearer of the party in the April 20 Ondo governorship primary election.

The Deputy National Organising Secretary, Hon. Nze Duru, who confirmed the decision of the party to adopt direct mode of primary, said they had written to notify the National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, Giwa said that the future of the state lies in the decisions the APC members make in April 20.

Addressing journalists in Akure, Ondo State on Friday, Giwa said “As one of the stakeholders in Ondo state, let me quickly remind the APC members that the future of Ondo state lies in the decisions they make to elect a candidate that will either move the state forward or backwards.

“They should carefully choose between an abuser and a great transformer who wants the best to happen to Ondo State.”

“Ask the aspirants to present their wives; does he know you?

“Who is he? Is he a grassroots politician, a wife-beater, or a great transformer? Has he been elected or appointed in any political position before? These are the questions they ought to put forward before they elect a candidate.

“A man who can not lead his home successfully cannot be in charge of a State. The book of 1 Timothy 3:4-5 explains that if anyone wants to provide leadership either in the church or in a society, he must be a good person at home.”

Speaking on the endorsement of governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa by some elders of the APC , the cleric described them as ‘political paperweights’ who deserve no serious attention.

“They are political paperweights, we know them. None of them can boast of winning their units, wards, or local governments for their candidate.

“They deserve no serious attention; they are selfish politicians who want to maintain a steady tempo in order to feed their stomach.”
