Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa is set to be declared as the Governor of Sunshine state any moment With 98% of the results posted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on its Result Viewing (IREV) porta.
The Governor Lucky is lesding his major contender, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had uploaded 98 per cent of the results from polling units.
Out of 3,933 polling units across the state, INEC uploaded the results of 3,622 units to its portal.
The results, however, showed that Aiyedatiwa was ahead of his closest rival, PDP’s Ajayi.
The camp of the APC went into victory mode as soon as the results began streaming in.
By 5.15pm, the National Secretary of the party, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, was on his X handle @Dr.SRJ_ with a message to his followers: “Our mood in Akure now!!! Alhamdulilah.
”Attached to the text was his picture, smiling. The election was generally peaceful across the state.”
