Ondo: ‘Tinubu called me to step down for Aiyedatiwa’- Akinfolarin

One of the aspirants in the primary election of the All Progressives Congres Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin has claimed that President Bola Tinubu called him to step down for governorship Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

In a vira video circulated on the social media on Sunday, Akinfolarin was seeing addressing his supporters, and urged them to celebrate the victory of Aiyedatiwa.

Reports had it that political thugs stormed voting centers to disrupt the Saturday’s exercise and prevented supporters of some governorship aspirants from voting.

Election materials were reportedly not taken to Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, hence no voting.

The violence that erupted even before the accreditation and election procedures could commence prompted voters to flee in search of safety.

Some notable aspirants had called for the cancellation of the exercise.

However, Akinfolarin said,” I am a politician, and I can categorically tell you that I had knowledge about what happened on Saturday.

“A few days to the primary election, President Bola Tinubu called me to a meeting along with Faleke, Minister of Interior and told me to give my support to Aiyedatiwa.

“I’m a party man, and I will remain loyal to the party. I’m going to Odigbo right away to start celebrating.”
