OPINION: A cheat remains a cheat, by Enikuomehin

Saint John 8: 32. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. These eternal words were spoken by the great Teacher, Master and Lord, JESUS CHRIST.

Freedom comes to any man at any point he realises the truth about himself or any ventures he desires to undertake. This accounts for why organisations, groups, corporate bodies, institutions etc value men and women of honest reports that can be engaged.

A fraudster can never be the darling of any organisation or group. No institutions will accept the recommendation of a known Gangstar for any candidate seeking employment. In most cases, recommendations are taken from Judges, Senior Lawyers, Senior Police Officers, Senior Military Officers, High Level Civil Servants and, of course, the Clergy. It is expected that if any of these personalities recommends a candidate, barring other factors, the candidate may secure the employment he is seeking for.

In the engagement of persons who should govern a country, state or local authorities, the same standard is required. In the book of Proverbs 14:34, it is said “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”

The standard is already set, a nation, state or local authority can only be exalted by Righteousness. When the righteous rules therefore, the people will rejoice. Proverbs 29:2. ” When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn”

A man that ascends the position of authority or rulership of a state by crookedness, fraud and mischief cannot do better than the descriptions by which he ascends the position.

A cheat will always remain a cheat. A fraudster (who does not amend his way) will always be a fraudster. There is nothing one can do about a man who is crooked in all his ways.

Our world, particularly our society in Nigeria is populated by people whose daily desires are to cheat. When a person in Nigeria gets into a thriving organisation, the slogan is ” I will make it here” Making it does not entail working hard to get promotion, but to cheat, defraud and ruin the organisation.

This evil mentality is what has been brought into governance in Nigeria. It does not matter how you get to the political office: JUST GET BY ALL MEANS. You may kill, maim and destroy. You may alter the procedures laid down. You may change the goal post in the middle of the game. What matters in Nigeria is: WIN BY WHATEVER MEAN, FOUL OR FRAUD!

The alleged Governorship Primary Election in Ondo State fits perfectly into the crookedness theory of ascendancy to the throne. Those who engaged in the wayward and dastardly acts do not want to be criticised.

They want the people who are cheated to accept it as the norm. The crooks are prepared to abuse, curse and go berserk in fighting those who say things must be done right. They go from mount Akoko, through Owo, navigating Akure and Idanre through to Ondo to hurl abuses on whoever dares to challenge them. From Ile-Oluji through Odigbo to Irele, they are moving like tornadoes to suppress whoever dares to challenge them.

However, these cheats are stuck at Okitipupa. A World Champion, First Class material in the act of War has stationed his ballistic missiles of TRUTHS around the Local Government. His fortress is impenetrable. Every arrow fired by these men of dishonest rappers reports are brought down by the Captain of the War.

Senator Dr. Barrister Jimoh Folorunso Ibrahim, OFR, CFR is well prepared academically, intellectually and financially to battle the forces of darkness. The ARABA OF IKALE LAND is not a push over. He is standing ‘GIDIGBA’ on ground to crush the invasion of the territory of TRUTHS where he resides.

The invaders of TRUTHS have now retreated. They are now seeking men of honour, advanced in age with silvery hair, to weaken the truth being advanced by the War Lord himself. Their thinking is that these men will be able to cow the spirit of truth moving like a consuming fire in the State.

The Senator should honour the invitation. He should listen attentively to the old men. The War Lord should be quick to hear, BUT EXTREMELY SLOW TO SPEAK. After hearing the old men, he should come home to report the purpose for which he was summoned.

This was the position of the Apostles of Jesus Christ in Acts 4:23 ” Being let go, they went to their own company and reported all that the chief priest and elders had said unto them”.

It must be noted that the battle the erudite scholar, astute businessman and strategic political figure is leading is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in high places who want to put Ondo State under a taskmaster.

The cheats and fraudsters cannot continue in sin and expect the grace of God to abound. GOD FORBIDS. Rom. 6: 1-2 ” What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid…”
