Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has shed more light into the crisis rocking the Rivers State, saying his successor, Siminalayi Fubara refused to carry out his instructions.
Wike, while appearing on Tuesday’s Channels Television’s Politics Today, said Governor Fubara intentionally stopped all the projects he (Wike) inaugurated the tale end of his administration.
He said,” To tell you that I meant well for Fubara. I brought him to start learning about the Executive Council Meetings.
“I didn’t have that opportunity as a governor-elect; I took him to look at the Ring Road Project in Port Harcourt where I told him that if completed, it would make his second term easy.
“Also, I took him around to inspect other projects, and I told him to finish them. If I didn’t mean well for him, I wouldn’t have advised him in that capacity.”
THE PLAINTRUTH had reported that Fubara became the governor of Rivers state with the support of the FCT minister.
A few months after his swearing-in, Fubara’s relationship with Wike started going sour.
Fubara, a sitting governor seems to be resisting Wike from taking over the leadership of the state from him.
The rift between the two leaders had affected the legislative arm of the Rivers State government while two different Speakers pledging loyalty to Wike and Fubara.
Wike attempted to trigger the impeachment of Fubara, his immediate successor, less than six months that he took over as governor.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, the Minister and his successor have refused to shield their sword.
