A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dele Momodu, has accused the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike of destroying the party with a view to succeeding President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Both Wike and Makinde paved the way for the emergence of President Tinubu in the 2023 election.

Makinde is said to be nursing for the presidency come 2027.

Some stakeholders in Oyo state have recently begun the campaign for Makinde to contest the 2027 election.

The group under the auspices of ‘Progressive Youth for Makinde Presidency 2027’ in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, asserted that Makinde has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to good governance, making him fit for the presidency.

Wike, on his part contested against the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, bjt lost.

He is believed to be eyeing the presidential seat.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Momodu said both Wike and Makinde were holding the PDP back to pave the way for them to contest in 2027.

He said,” It’s very unfortunate that Wike and his group are destroying the PDP because some of them have ambitions to become the president in 2027.

“They have vowed to destroy the PDP, hoping that, somewhere along the line, president Tinubu may not contest in 2027.

“They want to use PDP as a platform to contest because the APC may not give them the ticket. They are leading the PDP to Golgotha.”
