In this interview with Awoyemi Abiola, Uba said the era of good music is gone.

His forte has been the ability to spin all major genres of music. This is a special skill he had demonstrated over the years.

Attaboy has crafted a niche for himself in the Nigeria music industry as a disc jockey with unmatched versatility.

He had released series of albums such as the Freedom, Valentine Day, You Be The Best, Stir Up Baby Summer Time and Suke Suke.

While speaking to THE PLAINTRUTH correspondent in Lagos, he said,” There is no music again, compared to what we used to have in those days.

“All we have now is mediocrity, because most songs we are hearing have no messages. They lack melody.

“Aside this, people only dance to the beat of music, not the message. The kind of songs musicians release now cannot stand the test of time. It fades out very quickly because it lacks content and originality.

“Can you compare our nowadays songs to that of Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Sweet Breeze, Sunny Okosun, e.t.c?

“Most Nigerian musicians at the moment can not even play musical instruments; some of them have little or no knowledge about musical theories. All they do is little irrelevant write up, and rush to the studios thereafter.”
