The All Progressives Congress, APC says those who approached court to stop the swearing-in ceremony of the president-elect, Ahmed Tinubu will fail.
It said, nothing would stop the swearing-in of the president-elect.
Five residents of the Federal Capital Territory had approached the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court for an order to stop the ceremony.
The aggrieved residents applied for an order restraining the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, any other judicial officer from swearing in any candidate in the February 25 presidential election as President or Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, until it was judicially determined with finality or in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution that such candidate had fulfilled the requirement of Section 134(2) (b) of the constitution.
The matter has been fixed for Monday May 15, for mention.
Speaking with THE PLAINTRUTH on Saturday through the spokesman of its Lagos Chapter, Seye Oladejo, the APC described the move as “an exercise in futility”.
