President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed approved the appointment of Adeniyi Bashir Adewale as acting Comptroller General of Customs.

At the same time, the president also named Maj. T. A Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff and DIG Kayode Egbetokun, Acting Inspector-General of Police.

The president also named Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser.

Others are : Rear Admirral E. A Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, AVM H.B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye Chief of Defense Intelligence.

A statement signed by the Director, Information, Office of the Secretary-General to the Federation, Willie Bassey, ordered them to begin work with immediate effect.

Tinubu had earlier retired all service chiefs.

“It is to be noted that the appointed Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and the Comptroller General of Customs are to act in their positions, pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, the statement stated.
